Palo Alto Independent Living Provider, Avenidas Hosts “Money Matters: A Financial Conference”

Palo Alto independent living provider, Avenidas, is hosting “Money Matters: A Financial Conference” on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The conference will feature workshops on investing, taxes, sharing financial control, Medicare, social security, financial management and long-term care and more. Individual appointments with session one and two presenters will be held during sessions two and three. Appointments will be held on a space available basis. Participants will be given the chance to set-up appointments with the presenter at the end of his/her workshop.

“The goal of the conference is to provide people with advice and resources to help them make their money last a lifetime,” states Avenidas Marketing Director Kari Martell. “After getting feedback from our participants that this is the kind of conference they’d like to see us offer, we decided to add it to our existing slate of conferences, including Housing and Caregiving.”

The conference will be held at Avenidas’ Palo Alto facility at 450 Bryant Street, with free parking in the garage across the street. Avenidas is offering an early registration special: $ 40 for Avenidas members and $ 50 for non-members. Registration is priced at $ 55 after Jan. 19. Registration includes lunch, keynote, a choice of three out of nine workshops, access to sponsors and optional individual consultations. The first 100 people to register will also receive a free copy of “A Long Bright Future” by Laura L. Carstensen, PhD.
